Fulfilling God’s Work, Acts 1:1-11

Fulfilling God’s Work, Acts 1:1-11

Week 1, Day 1

READ: Acts 1:1-11

WRITE: Acts 1:4

“While meeting with them, he enjoined them not t depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for ‘the promise’ of the Father about which you have heard me speak.”

THINK:

What has God been working on in your life recently?  Jesus told the apostles to wait. How has God used waiting and obedience to be a part of the story He’s working in you?

My Reflection:

God has been working at both my heart and my head through music lately.  I started learning how to play violin in August, then switched to the viola last month. In-between my assigned practice pieces I have been teaching myself hymns. Although I don’t know specifically what God wants me to do with my music yet, this prayer from St. Francis keeps tugging at me:

“Lord make me an instrument of Your Peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

Where there is injury, pardon.

Where there is doubt, faith.

Where there is despair, hope.

Where there is darkness, light.

Where there is sadness, joy”
